Join us for a hands-on session with Distiller Cameron Mackenzie. These classes are limited to just 12 people each distillation – so get your ticket pronto!
In this workshop we will guide you through the Four Pillars distillery and gin-making process before you have the chance to work with Cam on a ‘micro-distillation’ in our newest (and smallest) CARL copper still, Eileen. After you’ve added the botanicals to the still, Cam will take you through a brief history of gin and the rise of craft distilling in Australia. All the while you can watch the distillation bubbling away and admire the process in action, before tasting the spirit as it comes out of the still at an unbelievably pure 90% ABV once the distillation is complete.
Plus you’ll get to taste five of the gins we’ve produced since we launched in 2013, and nibble on some tasty bar snacks to keep your strength up while you sip. Try our award-winning Rare Dry Gin, the 'gunpowder proof’ Navy Strength Gin, the sought-after Spiced Negroni Gin, the gold-medalled Modern Australian Gin, and, of course, the '2016 vintage' of our Bloody Shiraz Gin!
At the end of the class you’ll walk away with a goodie bag including a 200ml bottle of Rare Dry Gin and a jar of marmalade. The super-limited-edition ‘Maker Session Gin' the group distilled will be bottled at 700ml, hand-labelled and sent to you after the class.
