About this event

We invite you to a Family Spirit Information Session. You will have the opportunity to meet some of the team, learn about Foster Care and the important role carers play in supporting children and young people in need. You will also have the chance to ask any questions you have.

About Family Spirit

Family Spirit is a NSW foster care and adoption agency that seeks safe and caring homes for vulnerable children and young people across Sydney and regional areas. We also support young people to move to independence following care.

About Foster Care

Foster carers can make a real difference in a child’s life, whether support is provided on a part-time basis over a short period or in a full-time capacity over many years, the carer’s positive impact can lead them towards a brighter future.

Types of Care

  • Emergency - A few days, often at short notice.
  • Respite - A few days or regular weekends to provide support for young people in care – as well as their carers.
  • Short-term - From a few months to two years.
  • Long-term - Until a child reaches 18 years and beyond or is adopted from foster care.
  • Kinship - Care provided by a relative when they cannot remain at home.

When you become a foster carer through Family Spirit, you’ll receive full foster care training, 24-hour support from our team and a fortnightly allowance.

More information about foster care is available here Family Spirit Foster Care. You can also checkout out our Frequently Asked Questions to learn more.
