Women’s Health In the North is hosting a forum which will explore how to apply an intersectional framework to work on preventing violence against women.

Speakers include:

Accessibility

There is ramped entry to the Darebin Arts Centre (DAC), accessible seating areas located in the Theatre, wheelchair access to theatre stage provided, and an accessible toilet.

Auslan Interpreters

Auslan interpreters will be at the event and onstage throughout the forum.

Hearing System

The DAC has a Phonic Ear Hearing Augmentation System that provides assistance to both people with hearing aids, and people with hearing loss who do not wear hearing aids. The system complies with the Australian Standard 1428.

Baby Change Room

The DAC provides facilities for parents to change their babies in the designated baby change room

Bathrooms

Toilets are located opposite the Grevillea Room, and toilets are also available next to the Theatre during performances. An accessible toilet is also available near the Box Office. The venue does not have dedicated gender neutral bathrooms, however for this event some bathrooms will be signed and operate as gender neutral toilets.

Car Parks: The Darebin Arts Centre Car Park provides 180 unrestricted car spaces. Enter the car park via Peter Street, or St Georges Rd.
Street Parking:
Unrestricted parking is also available on St Georges Rd (East end).
Accessible Parking:
4 disabled car spaces are available in the car park.


Public Transport

The Darebin Arts Centre is accessible by train, tram and bus. The nearest public transport is Bell train station which is located 350m away along Bell St.

Train
Catch the South Morang line train to Bell Station. The Darebin Arts Centre is 350m west of Bell Station along Bell St.

Tram

Catch the Route 86 Tram (Docklands to Bundoora RMIT). Stop 44 at the corner of Bell St and Plenty Rd is ~800m away from the Darebin Arts Centre. Please note this stop is not wheelchair accessible.

Catch the Route 11 Tram (West Preston - Victoria Harbour Docklands). Stop 40 at the corner of Bell St and Gilbert Rd is ~900m away the Darebin Arts Centre. Please note this stop is not wheelchair accessible.

Bus
Catch Route 513 - Eltham - Glenroy (via Lower Plenty Rd & Greensborough), which runs along Bell Street.
Bus Stops are located 20-50 metres from the corner of High St and Bell St, Preston.
