Description

This is an event for Families.

You're invited to enjoy a FREE interactive drawing event brought to you by Libraries ACT and the Australian Children's Literature Alliance.

Meet Australia’s Children’s Laureate, author and illustrator Leigh Hobbs, in this fun, interactive drawing event. Create your own Old Tom and Mr Chicken and your own unforgettable characters. Bring a pencil, A4 paper, something to lean on and get ready to express your own creative talents.

Books will be available for purchase at the Library from a local book seller.

PLEASE NOTE: All adults and each individual child must be registered. Places are limited and each person must have a separate ticket.

Leigh Hobbs is the Australian Children’s Laureate, 2016-17. He is best known for his children's books featuring his characters Old Tom, Horrible Harriet and Fiona the Pig and Mr Chicken, as well as the Freaks and their teachers in 4F for Freaks and Freaks Ahoy. Old Tom has been adapted into an extremely popular TV series. Leigh has three times been shortlisted for the CBCA Picture Book of the Year Award (for Mr Chicken Goes to Paris, Horrible Harriet and Old Tom's Holiday) and his books have won every major children’s choice award in Australia.
