Event description

Description

As part of Yarra Libraries’ Food, Family and Culture series of food talks and cooking demonstrations, we welcome SisterWorks to Bargoonga Nganjin, North Fitzroy Library during Refugee Week on Saturday 24th June, 2017.

SisterWorks is a non-profit social enterprise 'Handmade with Love in Melbourne'. SisterWorks supports women who are migrants, asylum seekers or refugees to become financially independent and happily settled in Australia.

SisterWorks Creative Cooking is one part of the SisterWorks social enterprise focused on sharing food, recipes and stories from all over the world. Two chefs from SisterWorks Creative Cooking will be putting on a food demonstration; the chefs will demonstrate how to make dishes unique to their homelands. They will discuss their cooking techniques, while sharing stories from their homeland and their experiences in Australia. Visitors will then have the opportunity to taste the dishes.

Bookings essential. You do not need to bring a ticket with you to this event.
