Description

Food and Fibre Conference | Future Directions series: Adaptation

We welcome you along to the fourth conference in the series.

Adaptation: modification of an organism or its parts that makes it more fit for existence under the conditions of its environment: a heritable physical or behaviour trait that serves a specific function and improves an organisms fitness of survival.

Although this definition is about living creatures the same principles can be applied to the agricultural sector for without adaptations the survival of the sector would not be possible. So what are some of the adaptations that are helping the agricultural sector grow in a challenging climate?

- Adaptations relating to climate change
- Adaptations with equipment design and use of equipment
- Adaptations with technology
- Adaptations with communications and education
- Adapting to a more consumer-savvy world

Guest speakers
Graeme Smith, Graeme Smith Consulting
Grant Sims, Weekly Times Farmer of the Year 2016, Pine Grove Victoria
Mark Sloan, Geosys
More speakers will be added shortly

Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Please RSVP before Monday 24 July to secure your seat!
