Event description
Q&A panel discussion on the Folau and Banerji cases: What can you really say on social media?cases.

About this Event

You don’t have to be a public servant like Banerji, or a rugby star like Folau to find your job is on the line because of something you posted on social media. Everyone is bound by some form of employment contract, Code of Conduct, or Social Media Policy. These two court cases show there is still much confusion about what precisely you can and can’t (or shouldn’t) say on social media.

Hear from our panel speakers on issues including:

  • What rights do employers and employees have right now?
  • People in the public eye are seen as role models: how do they handle the extra pressures and responsibilities that social media brings?
  • Public vs private profiles: is it all just the one profile now?
  • How do companies and organisations deal with pressures arising from a social media crisis involving one of their own team or staff
