Description

FNQ Critical Incident Management Workshop

Dr. Clare Dallat - Risk Resolve

Dr. Dallat has been an outdoor educator for over twenty years and has spent the past sixteen working specifically in outdoor education risk management. Clare is an expert in accident predication as well as risk and crisis management, she leads research in this field and shares her knowledge of led outdoor risk management on both a national and international stage.

As leaders and managers, it is imperative our focus extends to critical incident management as part of overall risk management. There is growing research to suggest that it is not specifically the incident itself but rather the way the incident has been managed that determines the potential consequences. In many cases the difference between crisis escalation and crisis de-escalation is how well both the in-field staff and the management respond in the first few hours of a critical incident

When: Thursday 18th July, 1-5pm

Where: Northern Outlook Training Facility, Redlynch.

Programme:

The session will enable participants to understand, respond and manage the demands that will be placed on them and their organisation in the event of a critical incident. The session will apply case studies to enable participants to consider the multiple tasks, requirements and needs on their organisation both during and following a critical incident. This training will assist managers and leaders in developing the key skills and systems necessary to prepare for, manage and recover from a critical incident on a led outdoor activity program.

A networking opportunity will be available to those who wish to stay after the workshop.
