Flying fox initial assessment and care (Part 2)
Event Information
About this Event
NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) in collaboration with Wildlife Heroes are delivering a series of webinars for the volunteer wildlife rehabilitations sector across various topics on wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and wildlife health. The webinars provide an opportunity for volunteer wildlife rehabilitators to connect with professionals in the field and provide an update on developments and current best practice in wildlife health. The initial assessment and care of flying foxes is a two part series, presented by Dr Tania Bishop.
Part 2 of the flying fox initial assessment and care webinar will cover the initial assessment, stabilisation and management of common rescue encounters/injuries (e.g. heat stress, entanglement) in order to ensure the best outcomes for the animal. As the injuries and medical management of juvenile flying foxes can vary when compared with adults, this webinar will also cover the rescue, common medical conditions and first aid treatment specific to juvenile flying foxes.
