A collaboration between Flinders University and University of South Australia

Morning Session: 9.00 – 12 noon
Presented by: Stacie Attrill, PhD, MClinRehab, BSP, CPSP
Teaching Program Director (Health Professionals), Senior Lecturer: Speech Pathology, Flinders University

Stacie’s research looks at strategies for training health professionals to ensure the future workforce reflects the diverse communities we serve. She has explored how CALD students learn in work place settings and how clinicians can learn mutually from working with these students for application into practice.
Stacie will facilitate the morning session which will be a workshop style presentation. Using material covered in the workshop participants will develop a plan on how to work with students of diverse CALD backgrounds specific for their workplace.

Afternoon Session: 1.00 – 4.30pm
Expert Panel: including representatives from OT Board of Australia, University Support Services, Occupational Therapy Profession

A panel of people with expertise or personal knowledge/ experience regarding how best to support students who have a disability will assist particiants to explore the types of accomodations that are appropriate within the University and work place settings to support student inclusion in occupational therapy programs.
