About this Event

Title: Flinders Digital Health Research Centre – Our First Four Years

Invited Speakers: Professor Anthony Maeder and Professor Trish Williams

Flinders Digital Health Research Centre was launched in July 2016 with the creation of two new chairs in Digital Health Systems, jointly funded by SA State Government and Cisco Systems Australia Pty Ltd. A multi-stream research programme was developed across the three affiliated university Colleges, around an overall theme of “Digital Health enabling health smart living”. The presenters will discuss the approach taken in developing the Centre’s scope and alignment, and will describe some of the capabilities developed and projects undertaken in the past four years.

Speakers' Biographies:

Anthony Maeder and Trish Williams are both Professors of Digital Health Systems at Flinders University, and Co-Directors of the Flinders Digital Health Research Centre. Both have scientific academic backgrounds and have been involved in numerous areas of health informatics and software development. Prior to their move to Flinders, they held appointments at Western Sydney University and Edith Cowan University, respectively.

The Centre for Digital Transformation of Health Lunch time Series

The Centre for Digital Transformation of Health advocates for the movement towards connected health and runs fortnightly public lunchtime seminars between 12-1pm.

The Centre supports co-hosting seminar arrangements with The University of Melbourne and its partner organisations. Seminars may be held online, at a different venue, or on an alternative day and time in order to accommodate guest speakers or to promote jointly hosted events.

If you would like to co-host a seminar or get in touch with us, please email: health-informatics@unimelb.edu.au
