Medical and dental practitioners have access to specialist lending options that allow them to purchase their first home with just a 5–10% deposit and no Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI) through select lenders’ LMI waiver policies.

The Australian Government has also expanded its First Home Guarantee Scheme from 1 October 2025, removing income caps and increasing state-based property price limits. This change opens the door for more first home buyers to purchase with a 5% deposit.

Paul Jarvis has over 30 years’ experience in the Banking and Finance industry having held senior roles with ANZ and NAB as well as experience in the UK with Zurich. Prior to BFD Finance Paul was the State Manager VicTas for NAB’s Business Banking Financial Planning division. Paul’s skills and experience are diverse having worked with clients ranging from individuals, small to medium businesses, large privately-owned groups and ASX listed companies and across a variety of professions and industries. Paul’s approach is simple – to listen, understand and provide help so clients can achieve their personal and business financial goals.
