The Institution of Fire Engineers and SFPE - UQ Student Chapter invites you to the Continuing Professional Development Event:

FIRE SPREAD AND FIRE BEHAVIOR IN LARGE SCALE FIRE INCIDENTS

Dr Michael Logan is the Director of the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) Research and Scientific Branch. He has responded to more than 1600 HAZMAT incidents across Queensland, Australia and internationally.

He has a PhD in physical chemistry from the University of New South Wales and has been a Post Doctoral Fellow at the University of British Columbia. He also has various emergency management qualifications and is a HAZMAT specialist (NFPA 472).

Dr. Logan coordinates a number of programs across the QFES including enhancing capabilities within QFES to manage HAZMAT incidents such as decision support software known as ERDSS. His expertise includes research into various questions that are of interest such as fire-fighter exposures which have resulted in many publications.

Michael has delivered many invited presentations within Australia and internationally across all spheres of emergency management particularly in HAZMAT or chemical hazards, emergency management and hazard mitigation.
