Calima Energy Ltd (ASX:CE1)

Industry: Energy

The principal activity of Calima is investing in oil and gas exploration and production projects internationally.

In August 2017 Calima completed a transaction with Havoc Partners LLP, acquiring a suite of oil and gas assets. As part of the transaction the principals of Havoc joined Calima as the management team and two of the Havoc partners, Alan Stein and Jonathan Taylor joined the Board as Managing Director and Technical Director respectively.

Calima has entered into a farm‐in agreement in relation to oil and gas licences prospective for the Montney Formation in British Columbia, Canada. The Farm-in Agreement gives Calima the right to acquire a working interest of up to 55% in the Montney Project and operatorship of the Project.

Kingston has already discovered a new prospect at Livingston, Kingsley, which has mineralisation defined over 1km of strike

PPK Group Ltd (ASX:PPK)

PPK Group Limited, under the former name of Plaspak Group Limited, listed on what was then the Australian Stock Exchange on 21 December 1994. In its initial years the group’s activities primarily focused on the manufacturing, importation and distribution of a range of plastics products.

Following the sale of these businesses in 2006, PPK refocused its operations on investments in industrial and retirement village properties and property development activities.

For the foreseeable future PPK will also continue to generate revenue from its existing investment in its industrial property portfolio and ongoing property development.

In line with its strategic growth goals the company’s immediate priorities are to:

  • Capitalise on opportunities to acquire strong cash earnings mining services businesses at prices that will add significant longer term value to PPK and its shareholders.

  • Leverage cost and efficiency synergies and cross marketing opportunities to enhance the profitability of the existing Rambor and PPK Mining Equipment divisions.

  • Identify and establish new export channels for the group’s existing mining related products.
