This inspirational biopic tells the true story of Robin Cavendish (Andrew Garfield, The Amazing Spiderman) who became paralysed from the neck down in 1958 after he was struck down with polio at the age of 28. He is initially given 3 months to live and must be connected to a respirator at all times in order to breathe. Not only does he go onto to live into his 60’s, he and his wife (played by Claire Foy, The Crown) and friends strive to improve the lives of other disabled people all over the world.
