Event description

Description

Co-presented with For Film Sake (FFS)

Credible Likeable Superstar Role Model (2016) is a fun documentary (73 mins) following award-winning performance artist Bryony Kimmings and her 10-year-old niece Taylor as they create Catherine Bennett, a fictional alternative pop start for tweens (7 - 12 year olds), far from the hyper-sexualised and commercialised world of pop.

Bryony and Taylor’s adventure sees them perform to thousands of children, garner national media attention, and takes them to the other side of the world and back. But the impact it has closer to home is perhaps most powerful of all. An inspirational film for anyone who cares about the impact of the media we consume.

Paleontologist by day and popstar by night, what better place to host Catherine Bennett than amongst her beloved dinosaurs? The screening will be introduced by the Australian Museum's resident paleontology expert Melissa Murray who will be able to answer any questions at the end about her job working at the Museum.
