Event description
We invite you to participate in the FABLE Festival of HDR Research, a forum designed to create a shared space for HDR research dissemination

About this Event

The Faculty of Arts, Business, Law and Education is keen to continue the HDR Festival Tradition and generate greater awareness of the research being conducted by HDR students in the Faculty.

We are inviting all HDR students (PhD, MPhil, etc.) within the Faculty of Arts, Business, Law and Education to participate in this forum, designed to create a shared space for HDR research dissemination.

Students will present their research to their colleagues and hear about the research being conducted by their fellow HDR students.

The Festival will allow HDR Students to:

  • Present your research in a friendly interdisciplinary forum
  • Hold a Confirmation of Candidature hearing (if required)
  • Take part in the "HDR Thesis Defense Debate - preparing for a Viva" competition (a short debate with a panel on your research)
  • Meet colleagues from other schools
  • View the FABLE winners of the 3MT

Lunch will be served, and we will celebrate the best presentations/debates from the day.

Deadline for EOI: Fri 25 September 9am

Venue: Ernst & Young Lecture Theatre, Business School

Time: 2nd October 2020 from 9 am – 4.30 pm, lunch will be provided

HDR students are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity by registering their attendance and/or choice of participation.

Participation options include:

  • I want to give a longer presentation (15-20 mins) – please let us know if this is a Confirmation of Candidature presentation, and indicate your supervisor
  • I would like to present at the HDR Thesis Defense Debate - preparing for a Viva
  • I am happy to be a possible panellist for the HDR Thesis Defense Debate
  • I would like to attend as an observer

You can choose to participate in more than one way, please indicate your choices when registering for the event.
