Description
Join us to help grow the Flinders business community. This two-day event will showcase existing businesses, bring a range of guest speakers to Flinders, and provide tips and tools for those thinking of starting a new business.
Choose your tickets for one or all of the events, and get involved in this exciting opportunity to connect with services and like-minded people. The agenda is as follows:
DAY ONE
BUSiness Showcase Tour
Meet us at a location to be determined, and hop on the bus at 10 am sharp, to visit eight local businesses that we find really inspiring (look out on our event page for details!) Returning at 4 pm.
Forum Reception Dinner
To celebrate Flinders Island Business, join us at the Furneaux Tavern's Kipli Restaurant. Chef Cate Hardman has prepared a special menu for us to showcase fresh, seasonal, local produce. We have also invited Beck King from Kingthing Marketing as our guest speaker. Welcome drinks and canapes from 6 pm.
DAY TWO
FertISLE Business Conference
The Timber Room, Furneaux Arts and Entertainment Centre, 9 Patrick Street, Whitemark. Light lunch provided.
Info Sessions
These information sessions are a series of short presentations, by a number of government and industry representatives. They will be talking about how they can best support Flinders Island Business to grow. You can also take this opportunity to give your feedback on the unique nature of Flinders Island Business.
We have guests from The Department of Employment, The Department of State Growth, Business Tasmania and Regional Development Australia.
Skills Sessions
Here we will be running workshops from some of The Van Diemen Project's most experienced advisors on topics such as cash flow for small business, communication in small business, social media fundamentals and visual content marketing.
The Solution Room
This is our way of addressing challenges within the community, with like-minded people. At the end of a conference, no one is looking for yet more information and motivational talks. We want deep conversations, practical advice, and actionable steps. It is essential that you are aware of the actions you want to take as a result of what you've learned at FertISLE Business. That's what we are aiming for with The Solution Room.
