A hands-on workshop on the science and art of making your own fermented foods and drinks.

Presented by Dr Margo Adler and Nanna Bayer: a marriage of two enthusiastic Tasmanian fermenters from very different backgrounds, one an evolutionary biologist and award-winning science communicator from New York City, the other a celebrated artisan from Finland.

This small-group experience includes:
- A fascinating talk on the microbiology behind fermentation and discussion of the gut microbiome
- Hands-on instruction in fermentation
- A beautiful jar of your very own handmade fermented veggies
- A Tasmanian tasting platter of fermented delights
- A tasting of fermented beverages, including traditional non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks
