Description

‘I keep my own books’
Fergus Hume’s Madame Midas

Join Rachel Franks for the Third Annual Lecture of the Fergus Hume Society.

This year’s lecture will focus on Madame Midas (1888), the companion-piece to Hume’s bestselling The Mystery of a Hansom Cab (1886), featuring a wonderful, but often forgotten, heroine. The lecture will be immediately followed by an open discussion of this ‘realistic and sensational story of Australian mining life’.
