About this event

FEMINIST WALKING TOUR

Sunday November 7, 11-1.30pm

150-152 Elizabeth St, Sydney NSW

Find out about Sydney's feminist and LGBTIQ+ struggle history.

This walking tour will catalogue the resistance against the heteropatriarchy.

It’ll explore key women’s rights and LGBTIQ+ street fighting events excluded and muted within the annals of public memory.

We will stop at Aboriginal and women convict rebellion sites. We will review queer campaigns. We will examine migrant women battle sites and stop at momentos of women's literary and journalistic endeavours.

This expedition will demonstrate that feminist resistance, revolts, and determined opposition are part of a people's uprising heritage.

Located in the beautiful Hyde Park, the Barracks and top end of Sydney's CBD.

The tour will take 2.5 hours along a 3km, flat route. Water and nibbles provided.

Proceeds to Green Left, Australia's leading progressive media outlet.

Green Left is turning 30 years old this year. Thirty years of activist press! Help us celebrate this truth-telling milestone by becoming a supporter.

Cost for Tour: $30 adult; $22 low waged; $10 for students. $50 family of four, $50 solidarity. Group bookings for students and others available.

Message 0403517266 if queries. If you can’t make this date, then you can book for our next tour, which will take place in the first half of 2022.
