Further information for competitors and parents of competitors:
Both No Gi and Gi brackets will be run in a ROUND ROBIN style tournament.
$50 entry covers both styles though you have the option to chose only one once you have registered.
The round robin format sees competitors gain extra mat miles regardless of outcome, lots of competition experience and lots of fun.
Each competitor will be 'grouped' with 4 other females closest in both weight and belt. This group is referred to as her division.
(Ages 12 and under grouped with 3 other females).
Each registered competitor will grapple each other female in her group once for a total of 4 matches for adults, 3 for juniors.
Adult matches are all 6 minutes
Junior matches are all 3 minutes.
Winner of each match is decided by IBJJF standard rules as follows.
Points are awarded during the match for securing these advantageous postitions:
4 points – back control with hooks
4 points - mount
3 points – establishing a controlled position after passing a guard
2 points – sweep
2 points – takedown/throw
*No advantages will be awarded.
Division winners are calculated by overall TALLY based on match results and outcomes. TALLY is awarded as such.
SUBMISSION = 3 to overall tally
POINTS = 2 to overall tally
DRAW = 1 to over all tally
LOSS = 0 to overall tally.
Each competitor is grouped to the closest registrated ladies to their weight.
This means you are not adhering to any pre-set weight category and there is no need to manipulate your weight prior to arrival.
Adult ladies will be seperated into white, blue and purple plus.
Junior ladies will be grouped acording to weight only. All belts together.
Registrations will close 9pm FRIDAY 22nd MAY 2015.
You can make changes to all of your information up until this point.
All the best with your preparation! Please spread the word! Looking forward to seeing you there.
