Description

This course is delivered over 6 sessions between 28 September - 2 November 2017. All session are on Thursdays.

This course will assist GPs preparing for the Objective Structured Clinical Exam (OSCE) of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP).

Course Structure
Attendees will be placed in small groups of no more than seven GPs and will be given the opportunity to practice a variety of exam scenarios with an experienced OSCE examiner and patient role-player. The examiners will provide guidance and feedback for improving exam performance.

Presenters include:
Dr. Kirsten van Haaster is an Australian-trained GP who gained Fellowship of the RACGP in 2003. Kirsten works in an outer metropolitan practice. She has been a RACGP OSCE examiner and supervisor of GP registrars since 2007. Kirsten has been leading OSCE courses for more than four years and her special interests include mental health and Aboriginal health.

Dr. Rashmi Saluja is an International Medical Graduate who has specialist qualifications as both a physician and GP. Rashmi has worked in rural and metropolitan practices in Australia since 2008. Her past roles include Medical Educator for GP Registrars. Rashmi has been an RACGP OSCE examiner for over seven years and is currently a practice principal at an inner city practice.

Dr. Sanjay Saluja is an International Medical Graduate with specialist qualifications as a surgeon and GP. Sanjay has worked in rural and metropolitan practices since 2009. Currently practicing in outer metro Melbourne, he is a Medical Supervisor for Registrars and been an OSCE examiner for the RACGP since 2011.
