Event description

Description

Learn how to improvise on the ukulele with the pentatonic scale. You think you don't know what a pentatonic scale is? Think again. You know that bit in Smokey Robinson's classic song, My Girl? Dun, dun dun dun dun dun ... ? There! You do know it! The riff from My Girl is the pure major pentatonic scale.

So how do you learn how to improvise? Just learn the simplicity and beauty of playing a popular song sparingly in a ukestrated fashion, and with someone who can show you all the ins and outs of the technique and theory. And there...you have begun your journey to improvising with very little pain. And you've learned a great song. My Girl. Please. Join us, and we can feel and steal our way into a whole new world of jamming.

Additional workshops with Jack n Jel at Summer Strum will be eligible for £1 cash rebates on the day. If you attend 2 workshops we'll refund you £1 cash. Each additional workshop is eligible for the £1 rebate.

Pre-requisite: Must know most chords in the Key of C and the names of the strings.
