It's back! The Fremantle Centre for Creative Photography's (FCCP) big end of year photographic weekend!

Join us and celebrate photography in Fremantle with eight inspirational speakers across two days of photographic inspiration! !t's a great way to get inspired in time for the holidays and develop your photographic skills and knowledge at the same time!

PRESENTATIONS

Storytelling through Fine Art Portraiture - by Sarah Adams, WA AIPP Professional Portrait Photographer of the Year.

Discover how powerful stories can be created through the medium of portraiture. Sarah Adams, multi-award-winning portrait photographer, specialises in moving and emotive fine art portraits that, through the magical medium of photography, take on a life of their own. Sarah will share what inspires her and how she works her ideas to fruition. You'll be inspired to try your own artistic portrait creations after listening to Sarah.


Genuine Moments in People Photography - by Simone Addison, John Whitfield King Award Winner, Master of Photography AIPP.

One of the challenges in people photography is to capture honest, genuine moments of emotion and elation, instead of forced smiles and stilted poses. Simone Addison will share with you her approaches and techniques for working with people, whether you're photographing couples, lifestyle, weddings or engagement, to bring out their real personalities and knowing when to capture these poignant and powerful moments. Simone is a multi-award winning wedding and lifestyle photographer, who was recently awarded the prestigious John Whitfield King Award at the WA AIPP Awards.


A World of Wildlife - A Storytime Event with Alex Cearns, Professional Animal Photographer, 2017 WA AIPP Pet / Animal Photographer of the year, 2016 International Professional Pet Photographer of the Year (Lucies).

Alex Cearns's name is synonymous with stunning animal and wildlife photography, having travelled the globe and photographed wildlife in all seven continents. From the jungles of Vietnam, to the red beaches in the Galapagos, to the white wilds of the Antarctica, she has experienced extreme landscapes, intense heat and freezing cold, and uncooperative subjects. Alex will be sharing stories about her photography and how she works her photography to nail that shot. As one of Australia’s most awarded animal photographers, with a reputation for outstanding imagery, intense ethics around her animal subjects, and a passion for conservation, Alex is a dynamic and engaging speaker whose stories are always entertaining, humorous and full of valuable tips and information.


Into the Macro-verse: Exploring Macro Photography by Craig Franke, Wildlife/Macro Photography Instructor, Venture Photography Workshop, Founder of Pure Oz Macro.

Join specialist macro and wildlife photographer, Craig Franke, for a marvellous journey into the world of small things. From tiny spiders, ants, hover flies, damselflies and more, Craig will take you on a voyage of discovery into a genre of photography that will astound and excite you. Learn about the essentials of macro photography, including the selection of cameras, lenses and lighting equipment, and discover Craig's top tips for photographing these little critters. If you love macro photography, you'll love this presentation!


Adventures in Bird Photography, by Shelley Pearson, ANZANG and Australian Geographic Nature Photography Award Finalist

Take flight with Shelley Pearson into the world of our fine-feathered friends, as you learn about the fine art and craft of bird photography. Shelley is an award-winning photographer who is very passionate about photographing birds. Her images have been published worldwide and exhibited as at both the ANZANG and Australian Geographic photographic exhibitions across Australia. Shelley will be sharing her key techniques in getting great photographs of birds -- from equipment selection to finding the right location, timing, and understanding the nature of her subject and their environment.


Ups, Downs, Ins and Outs of Aerial Photography, by Chris Saunders, West Australian Professional Photographer of the Year

See the world from a unique and awe-inspiring vantage point! Chris specialises in aerial landscape photography, bringing a creative vision to the genre that makes his aerials appear like paintings of ethereal, evanescent forms of lines, light and textures. In this seminar, Chris will share how he conceives of these landscapes, from researching locations, shooting from a plane and then editing the images to perfection. This is definitely one for those of you who enjoy aerieal landscape photography!


Catching Miracles: The Magic of Birth Photography by Belle Verdiglione, Winner of the International Colour Awards 2018, 1st Place - Australian College of Midwives Birth Photography Awards, Documentary Photographer of the Year 2017 - WA Epson Professional Photography Awards (AIPP).

Join multi award-winning birth photographer, Belle Verdiglione, on a remarkable journey into one of the most important and momentous events in the lives of many families. Belle will discuss her own personal journey into birth photography and her experiences as she supports families and captures their baby’s birth into the world. Through her images, she'll share the highs and lows of what it's like to be a birth photographer; you'll be moved to tears and laughter and discover for yourself the almost sacred duty of a photographer who has been gifted with the opportunity to document such precious moments.


Framing the World: A Photojournalist's Perspective by Daniel Wilkins, Press Photographer (The West Australian and The Sunday Times)

If you've ever wanted to delve into the mind of a photojournalist, then join press photographer, Daniel Wilkins, as he shares and discusses his journey into photojournalism and his experiences as a press photographer working with WA's main newspapers. A jack-of-all-trades and a master-of-everything in photography, Daniel will entertain you with stories from his experiences as a press photographer, and share the specialist techniques and mindset that are essential in great press photography.
