Event description

Description

A free one day community forum exploring the impacts of and responses to Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD)

This forum invites people who are

  • interested in health and wellbeing

  • living with FASD

  • health professionals

  • community support professionals

  • education or childcare professionals

  • researchers

Experts in the FASD field will present about the impacts of living with FASD and the latest local and national developments in prevention, diagnosis and supports.

All participants attending the forum will be involved in a conversation about what should happen on the Sunshine Coast to raise awareness, prevent and reduce the hardship associated with living with FASD. This conversation will inform the development of an action-focused community plan to be implemented over the next two years.

This event is organised by the Sunshine Coast Local Drug Action Team (SCLDAT) and funded by the Alcohol and Drug Foundation.

SCLDAT is a collaboration led by the Sunshine Coast Mind and NeuroscienceThompson Institute and including REFOCUS Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation, Community Solutions, National Organisation for Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (NoFASD), and the Sunshine Coast Child Development Service.
