Event description

Description

Most Australians have never set foot on a farm, or even talked to the people who grow and raise the food we eat. Recent research has found that 88% of residents across our region have never bought food directly from a farmer!

Join us. In the heart of our foodbowl. With local farmers.

To hear about the incredible work, vision and challenges of the new farming generation, and how we can all get involved.

A light locally sourced supper will be provided.

Our panel of awesome #nextgen farmers includes:

  • Sallie Jones, co founder of Gippsland Jersey, the dairy company that has put a fair price for farmers front and centre of their business
  • Paul Watzlaff of Thriving Foods Farm - a passionate young farmer committed to producing ethical, nutritious and delicous produce direct to customers
  • Claire Templeton of Square Mile Meats - a sixth generation farmer driven by an ethos of care for land, animals and people
  • Leni Mirams, a small scale market gardener from Hill End and President of the Baw Baw Food Hub, a not for profit connecting eaters with farmers and quality local produce.
  • Andy Britton is a regenerative horticulturalist, orchardist and farmer.

Head to the event page on our website for more detailed bios of our farmers.
