Family Violence Training for Clinicians - Identifying and Responding to Older People (Elder Abuse)

About this Event

This is a 60 minute training session and is suitable for any Peninsula Health employees who work directly with patients and clients, and in particular those who work with older people.

This session with assist Peninsula Health clinicians to develop a shared understanding of elder abuse and the role of health professionals in identifying and responding to it.

The training will cover:

· The definition and types of elder abuse.

· Indicators of elder abuse.

· Risk factors.

· How to enquire sensitively about family violence and empower older people.

· Support and referral pathways.
