FAMILY VIOLENCE & RENTING IN VICTORIA - MYRTLEFORD
A one hour session for the community sector to learn the basics around family violence in residential tenancies in Victoria.
If you deal with people affected by family violence situations who are living in rental accommodation (private, community, or public), then this session is for you.
Topics will include:

- What is a Residential Tenancy?
- Intervention Orders & Safety Notices
- Changing the locks
- Terminating a lease early
- Changing the lease
- What can the tribunal order?
- Goods left behind
- Where to get help
Familiarise yourself with the processes available specifically relating to family violence, general processes that could also assist in family violence scenarios, and the services available to guide protected persons through these processes. The sessions will also consider the options of excluded persons in dealing with tenancy matters.
