Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

We would like to invite all Faculty of Arts staff members (and friends) to come and join the official launch of the LGBTIQ and Allies network on 25 October from 5 pm sharp onwards.

The event starts with a panel discussion “LGBTIQ at work” with Alfredo Martinez-Expósito (SOLL), Joe Latham (SCC), Hannah McCann (SSPS) and Mary Tomsic (SHAPS) in the North Arts West Lecture theatre 553.

The discussion will take us from the international stage and debates about homo- and transphobia at the workplace to life at university. What is it that LGBTIQ staff, students and their allies contribute to university? What is it that makes a workplace a safe space, how do we promote inclusive values and how can LGBTIQ staff and their allies be supported and support each other in this process? And do we as a Faculty of Arts have a particular obligation to create a diverse curriculum and what should that look like?

The official launch of the network will take place at 6 pm in the Arts West Research Lounge (2nd floor) 6.
