Description

In this special ANU Learning Communities event, Dr Sonia Pertsinidis will present a free illustrated lecture entitled ‘Faces from the Past’. Drawing on a selection of items from the ANU Classics Museum, Dr Pertsinidis will introduce us to some of the ordinary, the remarkable and the extraordinary characters of the ancient Greek and Roman worlds: their lives, stories and beliefs. There will be an opportunity to view the items after the lecture and to ask questions. A light supper and refreshments will also be provided. Join us for this unique introduction to the most beautiful museum collection on campus, the ANU Classics Museum.

Dr Sonia Pertsinidis is a Lecturer in the Centre for Classical Studies at the ANU and she is the author of Theophrastus’ Characters: A New Introduction (Routledge, 2018).
