Join us for our one hour free public eye health lectures. Covering everything from Glaucoma, LASIK, Remote health to Virtual Reality.

About this Event

The eye health and research lectures will be held in the McCusker Auditorium, Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research - 6 Verdun St Nedlands, 10am – 3:30pm, Tuesday 22nd October and all lectures are free. Get your tickets today!

Lectures as follows:

10am - Professor Bill Morgan, Glaucoma Ophthalmologist and LEI Managing Director, speaking about ‘Adventures in the pressure space - what does the optic nerve do in Glaucoma and outer space?’ Professor Morgan will be presenting on his research into glaucoma and his collaboration with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

11.30am - Dr Andrea Ang, Corneal and Refractive Ophthalmologist, presenting ‘Can I get rid of my glasses Doc?’ Dr Ang will cover all things LASIK and Laser Refractive Surgery.

1pm - Dr Hessom Razavi, Retinal Ophthalmologist, taking you on a ‘Journey into the Eye’. Using virtual reality technology, Dr Razavi will take the audience on a virtual journey through the eye and disease.

2.30pm - Dr Angus Turner, McCusker Director of Lions Outback Vision, speaking about ‘Country eyes: how to give sight-saving treatment away from the city lights’, covering all elements of remote eye health care and the amazing work of the Lions Outback Vision team.

Each lecture will last for 1 hour, including question time.
