Event description

Description

Following the success of 2017's Donna Haraway: Storytelling for Earthly Survival, EFFA gets philosophical again with Ralo Mayer's Extra-Terrestrial Ecologies.

A film essay told in vignettes both irreverent and unsettling, ETE is an epistemological dissertation on the intersections of technology, space, ecology and the mediating role of cinema.

ET, Blade Runner and The Martian – along with other pop culture exemplars of space iconography – are deployed to explore our complex cultural engagements with environments near, far and imagined and the limits of perception.

Note: This screening will follow a screening of experimental shorts, which you may also be interested in.

This screening was made possible with the support of RMIT.
