Network Forum

Wednesday 27th September 2017

11:00am – 1:30pm

Microsoft Innovation Centre
Level 28, 400 George St Brisbane

This EXPRESSWAY™ Network connects commercially focused, like-minded Queensland people, with the objective of creating a Queensland wide innovation network that encompasses all industry sectors, regions and stages of business. EXPRESSWAY offers opportunities for you to make connections, share ideas, form collaborations and find out about services available to you from government and business support agencies.

This month’s EXPRESSWAY topic is:

How to take the critical digital and innovative steps to grow your business!

Keynote Speaker

Dr. Tim MacTaggart

Chief Entrepreneur in Residence at qutbluebox

In 20 years of work, Tim has built mobile telephone networks, run construction businesses, delivered gas pipeline projects, undertaken doctoral level research and helped commercialise clean energy technologies. But what really gets him up in the morning is innovation in all its forms.

Some key highlights of Tim’s career include;

Ø  Founding a startup to bring a tech-based consumer product to market (a work in progress!),
Ø  Helping to commercialise a concentrated photo-voltaic technology and an energy storage technology,
Ø  Undertaking research into disruptive technologies and what makes them tick (and getting a Doctorate in the process!)
Ø  Helping the University of Queensland train future entrepreneurs in all things innovation.

Innovation is a journey and there’s nothing more interesting than the ride...

Case Studies and Practical Steps

John Hale
Growing Your Digital Wings

John ran an engaging activity with everyone a few months back. Recently John presented a great workshop at Click! Digital and Business Expo on 5 stages of business growth, and the leadership traits and digital technologies needed at each stage of growth. We’ve asked John back this month to bring the practical steps we can all follow to grow our businesses. More info about John’s presentation and a 5 minute podcast with John at https://www.clickdigitalexpo.com.au/speakers/366-john-hale
