Description

"Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ" - St Jerome

How often have we attempted to make Scripture a part of our lives but fallen short because of one reason or another? If you want to learn how to read Sacred Scripture and make it a part of your life, then you need to come and spend a day with Dr John Bergsma. Dr Bergsma is incredibly knowledgable, inspiring and humourous, and will definitely set you on the right path when it comes to making Sacred Scripture a part of your faith journey.

Dr. John Bergsma is Full Professor of Theology at the Franciscan University of Steubenville in Steubenville, Ohio. He grew up Protestant (Dutch Calvinist) and served as a pastor for four years before becoming Catholic in 2001 while getting a Ph.D. in Scripture from the University of Notre Dame (Indiana).

Dr Bergsma completed his doctoral work on the Year of Jubilee in 2004, and has been teaching in Steubenville ever since. He specializes in Old Testament and the Dead Sea Scrolls. He also specializes in taking care of his wife and seven children. They live in Steubenville, Ohio, about a mile from the university.
