Event description

Description

Have you heard of the Product Manager? They’re the mini-CEO whose skills sit at the centre of all activity, productivity, and positive change of a physical or digital product.

Some would say the most successful tech companies like Apple and Google have the best Product Managers in the world: individuals who really know how to reveal the best products to market and constantly iterate on them. In Australia, Product Managers are highly sought after, especially in the biggest tech companies like Atlassian, Canva, and Freelancer.

The Product Manager role calls for a person with skills that span across a multitude of spectrums including communication, creativity, collaboration, and risk-taking. But, above all, the Product Manager must demonstrate the skills of a problem-solver. This is a mindset that can be applied to multiple industries, offering people with opportunities in small businesses, startups, or corporates.

At this panel event, Exploring Product Management, you’ll get a first-hand snapshot from industry experts on what it’s like being a Product Manager. Our panelists will give you insights into their career journey and how you can forge a future in the industry.

Our panelists will cover the following:

  • What is Product Management?

  • What’s involved in the day-to-day life of a Product Manager?

  • How does innovation and design impact a Product Manager’s role in startups and other organisations?

  • The decision-making process for Product Managers when prioritising features and functions

  • The differences between a Product Manager and a Project Manager
