About this Event
Due to COVID restrictions, and as a treat for Canberrans looking to be a tourist in our own beautiful backyard, we are offering FREE TOURS IN 2020.
Step into the story at Mugga Mugga and discover the fascinating stories of early life in the Canberra region.
Why not bring the family and learn about our local history? Get out and about the capital region and enjoy what our beautiful city has to offer, with our COVIDsafe tour.
Tours run first weekend of every month (on both Saturday and Sunday) at 10.15am, 11am, 11.45am and 12.30pm.
Enjoy a special tour of the land and paddocks around the cottage.* Learn about the development of the area from a tiny shepherds hut to happy family home, and see parts of the landscape rarely seen by visitors. This fascinating and engaging walk around the beautiful pastoral landscape will take you beyond the home and into the all-encompassing views.
If its chilly, wrap up warm and wear comfortable shoes! Wear a hat and sunscreen if its hot.
*Due to social distancing requirements and COVID-19 restrictions Mugga Mugga cottage is closed to visitors, but we do hope to change this very soon as the pandemic situation evolves.
You can also take a virtual tour of the main house using our digital interpretation content on an iPad, either before or after your tour.
ACT Historic Places acknowledges that Mugga Mugga sits on land nurtured and managed for millennia by the Ngunnawal people. We pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging.
