Event description

Description

Explore the wonderful and colourful world of geometric fractals with nothing but your hands and paper.

Using a form of origami called modular origami, where multiple pieces of paper are folded into the same shape that slot into each other without glue, you will be making a Level 1 Sierpinski Carpet, and a Level 1 Sierpinski Pyramid.

(You will be given enough paper to turn the Sierpinski Carpet into a Menger Sponge, and a Level 2 Sierpinski Pyramid, to finish at home).

This family friend event is suitable for children aged 8+. Children attending must be accompanied by an adult guardian (free of charge).

Please bring a large bag (similar to reusable supermarket shopping bags) to take your completed origami home.

This event is part of the Sydney Science Festival during National Science Week.
