Description

This is the registration page for Experimental Design and Power Calculation. A workshop designed specifically with Science HDR students in mind.

This presentation and workshop focuses on the key aspects of experimental design that researchers and students may need to apply. Hands on examples of power calculation will be included.

The workshop will include the following topics:

  • The research question and experimental design
  • Experimental validity
  • Randomisation and bias
  • Blinding and bias
  • Blocking and confounding
  • Fixed and random effects
  • Replication, Experimental Units
  • Exercise
  • Statistical power and sample size calculation
  • Software tools

To get the most out of the workshop download a copy of G*Power prior to the session. Find the download here. We will use this free software tool for the power and sample size exercises.
