Due to the unfolding events surrounding the COVID19 pandemic, the VCCC has made the decision to postpone events, workshops and symposiums until further notice.

We hope to reschedule this event for later in the year and will provide details when appropriate.

If you have any questions, please email Cynthia Slattery, VCCC Events and Communications Coordinator at cynthia.slattery@unimelb.edu.au

Have you ever wanted to improve or design services to meet consumer and staff needs? Have you ever wondered how to partner with consumers to optimise care?

This full-day Masterclass hosted by Professor Theresa Wiseman from the University of Southampton, will focus on experience-based co-design (EBCD) which is an approach that enables staff and patients (or other service users) to co-design services and/or care pathways, together in partnership.

Nurses will be able to:

  • Learn about experience-based co-design (EBCD)
  • Explore how to gather experiences from patients and staff
  • Interactive workshop where you can participate in an EBCD simulation

This workshop will be facilitated by an international speaker and is a unique educational event initiative by the VCCC Nurse-led Research Hub.

Places are limited to nurses who work with any cancer patients.

Facilitator

Professor Theresa Wiseman is Clinical Professor of Applied Health Research in Cancer Care at the University of Southampton and The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. Theresa holds a clinical academic appointment, which means she combines clinical practice and research. Her research centres on the patient (and carer) experience of cancer and treatment, and developing services and interventions to enhance that experience. Theresa is a Board Member (Secretary) of the European Oncology Nursing Society (EONS) and a member of the EONS Research Advisory Group. She is an international member of the Australian and New Zealand Urology Research Faculty (ANZUP). Nationally, Theresa is a member of DH/Macmillan Consequences of Cancer and Treatment Collaborative (CCAT) and an NIHR Academic training Advocate.
