HIGHLIGHTS:

Baldwin's Bluf Trail and Lookout | 6 km Return | Difficulty: Orange | Time: allow 2 hours

This lesser known trail in Serpentine National Park is a challenging hike for those just beginning. It begins with a moderately steep 2km. For anyone new to hiking, the climb is hard enough to test you but still short enough to make it enjoyable.

MEETING POINT AND GETTING THERE:

Located about an hours drive from Perth, make your way down South Western Hwy, and the park is located on Falls road south of Jarrahdale. The trail starts at the Serpentine National Park. **Please note, there are entry fees to the national park per vehicle.

INCLUDED IN YOUR TICKET:

Your ticket includes a start to finish guided hike with our trained hike leaders. Hike leaders carry communication devices and first aid kits for your safety. Feel comfortable knowing that we will guide you through your hiking experience and you can relax and enjoy. Your ticket also covers licences and registration fees to hold group hike events in National Parks in WA. Please note a 10% ticket fee charged by Eventbrite to all ticket sales

TRAIL DIFFICULTY:

Bush Walk: Moderate fitness recommended, and be prepared for some steep inclines, but a great opportunity to experience a more hilly hike with a short distance.

WHAT TO WEAR & BRING:

  • Bring plenty of water ( at least 2 litres per person)

  • Comfortable clothes and sturdy trainers or hiking boots. With the uneven gravel trail at times, good grip soles are advised.

  • Personal first aid kit

  • If you have hiking sticks, this is a good trail to bring them along with yo.

  • Camera

PARK ENTRY FEES:

A national park entry fee of $13 per vehicle is payable at the entrance. If you are an RAC member, you can get 50% off an anual parks pass which allows your free access to all national parks! Carpooling is a great idea for this hike.

PETS:

As this is a national Park, no dogs are allowed.

UNDERSTANDING THE GRADES:

Green hikes are suitable for beginners and can be completed with a basic level of fitness. There are minimal vertical climbs, and between 1-5km in length.

Orange hikes are suitable for the moderately experienced or hikers with a reasonable fitness level. These are typically between 6-15 km with a decent vertical climb. Most hikes will be orange.

Red hikes are for experienced hikers or people with a good level of fitness. They are typically longer than 10 km and involve challenging elevation and terrain. They may also be shorted hikes with a continued steep vertical climb. such as Bluff Knoll.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

No-shows and cancellations received within 7 days of hike departure will incur a 100% cancellation fee.

Cancellations received 7-14 days prior will incur a 50% cancellation fee. Cancellations received over 2 weeks in advance will receive a full refund or credit towards another event. Cancellations will not receive a refund of the eventbrite booking fee. Customers can transfer their booking to a friend or family member with no penalty but must advise in writing so The Hike Collective can forward all booking information to the new attendee.

All bookings are made via Eventbrite. If The Hike Collective cancels an event due to inclement weather your ticket will automatically be moved to the new date, or you will be eligible to transfer amounts paid to another event or receive a full refund.
