Event description
A Celebration of the latest Bayside fossil discoveries: A special audience with Dr. Erich Fitzgerald (Museums Victoria)

About this Event

The Lost World of Bayside presents —

Expedition Bayside: Exploring Our Past for Our Future | A fundraiser to preserve our pre-history.

Melbourne's Bayside suburbs are home to the most important urban fossil sites in all of Australia. Extraordinary fossils of prehistoric sea creatures provide a unique window on Australia’s teeming oceans from 5 million years ago. Your vital support in funding the surveying of these sites and the discovery of new fossils will help open a new chapter in Australian history, allowing us to better preserve Bayside’s natural wonders.

Dr. Erich Fitzgerald, Senior Curator of Vertebrate Palaeontology from Museums Victoria, delivered an inspirational speech last year.

Please join us for 2021 to celebrate the latest findings and be inspired again!

This exclusive donors event will feature an enthralling presentation by Dr. Fitzgerald, complete with Official Opening by the Honorary Mayor Laurence Evans OAM, Bayside City Council

Support groundbreaking research and exploration of our unique Bayside fossils, and the biological diversity that once inhabited our natural world!

*** Please Note: Entry is open only to those who make a donation of $50 or more per head, to directly support the continued research of Bayside fossils at Museums Victoria ***
