Exhibition Opening: On Water by Lorraine Bower
About this event
Lorraine Bower’s exhibition explores some of the myriad moods and facets of the ocean and waterways around the east coast of Australia.
The artist has attempted to convey the spirit, rather than realistic likenesses of locations depicted in the smaller works - ideas that impressed me on my sailing trips and dwelt in my memory. These works mostly look out from the shore, out to sea, and take a much more expansive view than a sailor might experience, so very close to the ocean.
The Exhibition provides you with a glimpse and a connection into this watery world that has fascinated and preoccupied me over so many years.
