Exhibition Opening Night - 'Walk the River' by Uncle Jim Berg
Date and time
Join Reconciliation Victoria to celebrate the opening of 'Walk the River' exhibition by Uncle Jim Berg.
About this event
Reconciliation Victoria is hosting a special event, coinciding with National Reconciliation Week, to share a personal collection of stories, poems and scar tree photographs by respected Gunditjmara Elder, Uncle Jim Berg.
An immersive exhibition where 'you can take the memory of these scarred trees with you forever, and share their story' - Uncle Jim.
To celebrate the opening of this exhibition, come along and enjoy an evening of First Nations music and food and a special performance by the Djirri Djirri Dancers.
Please join us to recognise and celebrate brave Elders, like Uncle Jim, who make positive cultural change every day.
'Walk the River' exhibition will show at the Blak Dot Gallery until 23rd June.
We would like to thank Museums Victoria for their support and partnership. This exhibition is a new iteration of the original exhibition Silent Witness: A Window to the Past, commissioned and developed by Museums Victoria and Uncle Jim Berg.
** Please note: there will be photography at this event. If you do not wish to be included in any photography, please advise Reconciliation Victoria staff at the event.

Reconciliation Victoria acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Victoria, and recognises First Peoples continuing connection to lands, waters, and community. We pay our respects to Elders past and present who carry the memories, traditions, cultures, and aspirations of First Peoples, and who forge the path ahead for emerging leaders.
