Mr. Francis Sollano is a Filipino visual artist, Co-convenor and Executive Director of Youth for a Livable Cebu, known for his contemporary take on upcycling garbage into wearable art and art installations.
His works have been shown across the globe in major cities including London, New York, Paris, Tokyo, Singapore and Bangkok. He is bringing his movement of sustainable practices and livability in communities to the international stage. He was awarded by the World Economic Forum (Davos, Switzerland) as a Global Shaper, by the British Council as an Elevate Fellow and a recipient of the United Nations Environmental Program Fellowship Award as a leader on sustainable design. Rappler.com named him as a Creative Mover 2015 for his contributions in helping improve communities by youth engagement.
Francis will be sharing his extensive experience in sustainable art, environment and youth empowerment at the Philippine Embassy in Canberra on 05 November 2016.
