The Excellence in Sport Series aims to highlight current areas of development within the ACT sporting and recreational sector. The series provides educational, training and support resources and events for ACT sporting and recreational organisations as a series of themes throughout 2020/21. The first theme of the Excellence in Sports Series is 'LGBTIQ Participation in Sport'.

In conjunction with the Pride In Sport Index, this online workshop event provides sporting and recreational organisations with an introduction into the Index and provide an understanding of the importance of the Index in enabling organisations to better tailor programs and initiatives to build safe and inviting participative environments for the LGBTIQ community within the sector.

This online workshop features speakers including Emma Staples (Head of participation, Community Development & Diversity with Cricket Victoria), Ian Roberts (first openly gay male to play elite Rugby League in Australian, and a stalwart of inclusion in sport advocacy) and Beau Newell (National Program Manager of Pride In Sport).
