Event description

Description

You (and friends) are invited to join us for a HuNI planning day!

HuNI – the Humanities Networked Infrastructure – is a Virtual Laboratory for humanities and creative arts researchers.

Described as “One of the world's most advanced and technically interesting digital archives of cultural resources” (Alan Liu, Distinguished Professor Department of English, UC Santa Barbara) and as “pointing the way toward a new generation of digital humanities infrastructures” (Jennifer Edmund, Director of Strategic Projects, Trinity College, Dublin);

HuNI combines data from many Australian cultural websites into the biggest humanities and creative arts database ever assembled in Australia.

We are ready to show off HuNI’s latest features and we want you to help us plan its next iteration.

The morning timeline:

9.30 for 10 am start (coffee to be served)

10-11.00 am A Taste of HuNI: Learn about what’s new and get started in HuNI

11-12.30 pm What's next for HuNI?

*Please remember to bring your laptop*

The half-day is aimed at anyone interested in cultural data, data linkage and aggregation, and open knowledge. Attendees – whether they have limited exposure to working with cultural datasets or are highly experienced researchers in the area – will benefit from learning about HuNI and helping plan for its future. No specialized computing knowledge is required!
