Eve Health Paediatric First Aid Course
Event Information
About this Event
It’s a scary statistic for parents, that of all infant and childhood injuries, 80% happen within the home.
As parents, or parents to be, are we skilled to handle a medical emergency?
The course runs for 3 hours and costs $85 (+bf) per person. It is practical and hands on in a small group, with a focus on the most common household injuries known to affect babies and toddlers. At the end of the session you will be more confident in what to do in an emergency situation, equipped with the knowledge on how to save a life and know what to do in the crucial time where you are waiting for an ambulance to arrive.
You will learn CPR for babies and children and how to manage:
- Choking
- Fevers and febrile convulsions
- Burns and scalds
- Head injuries
- Allergic reactions
- Poisons, bites and stings
- Drownings
The sessions are run by Chantelle Forsyth and Nicole Scurr from The Parenting Place. They have extensive experience in paediatric emergency, maternal child health, lactation therapy and teaching first aid.
Chantelle and Nicole are very passionate about education, and as parents themselves, they are aware of how important it is to have knowledge surrounding first aid to help your children when you least expect it.
Educating parents on how to respond in an emergency is essential knowledge and is something they are very passionate about.
Registrations are essential and are open to the public.
