Description

Industry sector collaboration practices vary considerably around the world. Public and or private professionals, business people, and academics continually ask themselves and others how these practices may be made more effective to promote local, regional and or international trade, competitiveness and or innovation for multiple industry sectors. How could industry sector collaboration policies or practice be improved?

To answer this question, the South Australian Cluster Leadership Group (SACLG) has invited Dr Emily Wise (Lund University, Sweden) to present her talk on "Cluster and Collaborative Innovation Policies in Europe - trends and challenges for the future", which will be a brief overview of current EU-level cluster policy trends and planned actions, as well as some examples of challenges and changes underway in several EU regions or countries.

Emily Wise represents the Department of Business Administration, Lund University, Sweden. She is also a Director of the Board of TCI Network, a global network of organisations and practitioners with deep expertise in clusters and competitiveness. whose members collaborate in a unique, open, flexible and practical context to advance the practice of competitiveness, innovation and cluster development.

Following Dr Wise's presentation, Dr Andrew Dunbar (SA Department of Innovation and Skills) will present his talk on "Entrepreneurship in South Australia" in which he will talk about the entrepreneurial innovation and collaboration from a SA policy perspective.

Andrew Dunbar is the COO of the Office of the SA Chief Entrepreneur located within SA's specialist creative and innovation neighbourhood, Lot Fourteen. In this role, Andrew supports the SA Government's commitment to growing entrepreneurship and supporting start-up and scale-up businesses within South Australia across a range of industry sectors, including space.

The SACLG thanks the TCI Network (Oceania Chapter), SA Department of Trade, Tourism and Investment, SA Department of Innovation and Skills, and UniSA for making this event possible.
