Event description

Description

What do ethics and risk mean to you and your business? These important dimensions of business operations are not often fully understood and appreciated - they can be complex.

Ethical and risk management issues can grow organically or they can arise suddenly and unexpectedly, 'out-of-the blue.' Consider the Global Financial Crisis, BP Deepwater Horizon, Fukushima disaster and Ranza Plaza collapse. And smaller scale, impactful events such as Commbank's issues continue to hit the media almost daily.

While there is now greater attention on these issues, they are often driven by regulatory and legal frameworks which can miss or lag key moral dimensions - particularly in rapidly changing industries where competition and innovation is a strong characteristic of the industry.

Ethics and risk matters are therefore central to building long term sustainable businesses that are good for the owners, their stakeholders and good for the community.

The Ethics Matters Cafe brings people together in an informal forum, conducted under Chatham House rules, that enables business owners and professionals to understand more about these important matters.

The Ethics Matters Cafe explores actual cases studies and will take you on a journey to be wiser and more effective in managing risks and building and ethical framework for you business.

Joining the conversation at the Ethics Matters Cafe will be a rewarding investment.

The cafe @ Work Club is the ideal venue. In the Socratic tradition, we will provide cheese platters and you can buy drinks from the bar to go with the conversation.
